Environmental legislation

An essential first step in good environmental management is to identify the legislation applicable to your business. This section aims to identify the main pieces of legislation that could affect your businesses. A further useful resource developed by the joint environmental agencies providing up to date information on environmental legislation affecting small businesses is called NETREGS.

This section gives guidance on the general environmental legislation, which is applicable to the daily operations of marine businesses in the UK. This is not an exhaustive list but covers what is most relevant and is intended as a guide to legislation.
